The Details

What to expect at your session:
A relaxed environment. Being stressed for pictures doesn't help. Mom's tend to stress. Remember to take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy this time with your family. My goal is to capture the "real" stuff... you know the candid moments of life. Sure we will have some posing, but some of the best photographs come from the natural, playful moments.
I will not be begging anyone to say "Cheese". I may ask some children to say some silly little phrase, asking "Does daddy have smelly feet?" or "Do you wanna see mommy's silly face?" just to help the kids relax and have a good time.
Plan on a good hour for your session. I try to limit it to that amount of time. But I also understand that babies need to eat, children need to go potty, and distractions: "oooh that flower looks pretty - I need to smell it." (Sometimes distractions make the best photos) :)

Photo Day Tips:
*Clothing-Neutrals stay the most timeless. Bright solid colors and some prints are great too but try to stay clear of distracting prints and patterns. The focus is the child/person not what they are wearing. :)
Wearing trendy clothes is fun - just remember it will date your picture (that's not always a bad thing).
*Feel free to bring a clothing change - gives you more options. I suggest wearing what you are comfortable wearing.  I personally like kids barefoot in most pictures - they are just so cute - sandals or non distracting shoes are good too.
Feel free to bring:
*Water/Snacks/bribes- try to stay away from sticky/messy so the child can stay as clean as possible
*Favorite blanket/toy/book/etc. if it makes them feel more comfortable.
*Any props that you would like in the picture. We will be outdoors and hopefully have some great natural backdrops, but if you have accessories you would like to use feel free to bring them.
*Newborn portraits will be done either in your home or mine. Plan on this session taking 2 hours. Parents look best in white/black long sleeved shirts.

They are welcome to order from there also. If you purchase the download, you will have printing rights to that photo so you may print wherever you choose.
